Custom hand made ali or stainless adapter to over come the position instead of the silicone reducer . Have done one before took alot of cutting tig welding and fuck me's to do , hense why Ill only twist mount a 3inch inlet now. I would help you do it but my surgery is imminent . Talk to someone like metal craft to do it bud it wont be cheap

Thanks for the offer. Lots of persistent and a combination of three creative ideas and we are well on our way to success. Just needing to adjust the overall length slightly to fit tighter on to the turbo mouth and we are there.
Fabricated a middle alloy section and welded a BOV inlet fitting and then cut a brand new prospeed racing silicone inlet hose and we have a custom inlet hose. I am particularly proud of today's achievements. |

Ringland anyone?
I thought I had the finish line in sight....
Now that the manifold is largely in place and ready to be bolted down I realise that the compressor outlet is aiming directly at the fly by wire sensor. I now need to reposition the outlet so that it will pick up the stock location process west silicon inlet hose. This project is beginning to crack me. Does anyone have ideas on how best to reposition, not just reclock, the compressor outlet nozzle? |

ohh man. this is making me dread my swap.
can you not just release the circlip, rotate the outlet up a bit then eset the circlip. easier said than done when its in situ, but sure that could work. only thing you have to watch is the wastegate actuator.

Nick. I can't see that thread.

Ringland anyone?
When you say circlip are you just referring to clocking the compressor housing around or something else?
When I had the compressor inlet cut down I unscrewed about 6 bolts that were in pairs with plates between them that held the front housing to the cartridge core. It is easy to spin it around so long as the actuator is within its range of movement. |

yeah. sorry. assumed it had a circlip. but yes. can you not just spin the compressor 5 - 10° up to clear the throttle?
i thought these were supposed to be stock location turbos?

This driveway thread, page 6. Don't know why but Gordon has deleted a lot stuff from his thread. Any way you can see in the pic the turbo outlet has been cut and welded in a more rearwards position so it clears everything and lines up with the IC hose etc.

Thanks Nick. I will have a chat with Gordon and see who did his outlet reposition. I am pretty sure I know anyhow.
Yes. This is meant to be a stock position drop in. Only need TGV deleted and easy job.... Nope!!! I am waiting on a reply from Mamba. They should really send me a modified compressor housing rather than me paying a local engineering shop. The only thing that is good out of this is that if I do get it to fit and to work then it will be a huge sense of achievement. Next time I am going for an ATP stock location or just go all out on a twist mount. |
