Ohh. And something annoying. Not being able to get into the boot of a hatch when the battery is not connected. Why isn't there either a cable release or external key mechanism?

Some pictures.
Modified rear water line to allow turbo line to join from above. Silicone adaptor fitted showing relationship to TGV body. Machined down compressor inlet. |

I was concerned that it would be too thin and possibly crush onto the anti-surge area. Plus the machining would have been a lot more difficult due to the protruding rectangular piece.
I just went with what I have seen working. |

I can understand the want to purchase the MAMBA given the designers credentials but you've essentially ended up a guinea pig for fitment. I hope it works out for you in the end :/

It feels a little like this. I always knew that a 3 inch inlet would cause fitment challenges as it is a balance between bringing the compressor housing too close to the bell housing versus not having the compressor inlet clear the TGV.
I would hope that long term the Mamba turbos should come with a short inlet machined as per Bram's comment and also supplied with a 1cm up pipe spacer. Just for the record...Eiji has offered support but I have deferred taking up on the offer as I think I almost have it in a working state. |

The flywheel that I have is missing the locating dowels so that will be fixed tomorrow and then will be back on the engine and the engine back into the car.
If I am able to size the inlet hose and silicone adaptor tomorrow and get that to clear the TGVs then that should put me in a good position to start the car late on Saturday. The best laid plans of mice and men.... I will also change the fuel lines in the engine bay so that I do away with the crossover pipe that is blamed for much of the GR fuel stumble. The plan is to fit a dampener on the inlet side and then the sard FPR on the return line after the rails. Hopefully this will both control the fuel rate as well as any resonance issues. To date I have been running the fuel line mod with the extra metre of fuel hose put in to move the resonance outside of the rpm range. This was a night and day improvement. |

Flywheel drilled and new dowels about to be inserted. Fingers crossed it stays on track. Could almost be two Mambas taking their first breaths this weekend here in Perth...

Ringland anyone?
Pretty disappointed. Got the flywheel dowels machined out and replaced. Engine back in but cannot get even the machined down short snout three inch compressor inlet to fit. Even if I cut the silicon reduced as short as possible I am still going to run out of room on the AVO inlet hose before I interfere with the BOV return.
I have asked Mamba to send me a stock inlet size compressor housing and inlet hose. I would really like to run three inches too. |

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how to fit a three inch inlet in the stock location? There is physically room now to clear the tgv?
