Great service. Received the avcs oil line on Friday and noticed that one of the three way connectors was wrong. A quick email to Eiji at Mamba turbos and 30 mins later a DHL tracking number. Pan forward to Wednesday morning and correct part sitting on my desk. Awesome service from Taiwan to Perth.

What are people's views on silicone turbo vacuum lines? I looked it up and it appears to be 3mm inner diameter. Since I will have everything apart, I thought that I would tidy up a boost gauge routing and replace the stock rubber lines.

And just to make sure that I don't get caught out during the build weekend, I also ordered a couple of metres of 4mm inner diameter too.

Just in case I end up with a few extra ponies from the build and change of turbo I was thinking of fitting some new pads and rotors and flushing the circuit.

The car currently has Project Mu slotted rotors on the front with B Spec pads. I have been pretty happy with these for street use and will probably go for a similar pad. Rotor wise I may just go for an EBC slotted and dimpled rotor for no other reason than I think they look great.

I may get out and do an RAC day but it will just be for a play and not to the limit.

What is the best bang for buck to suit an 08 Sti?

I just put new Bendix Ultimate's in mine which have slotted rotors...Pulls up very nicely. Then again, mine see's no track work so that may have an impact on your final decision but I did put them to the test and I was very impressed apart from the dust.

Bendix Ultimates actually work pretty good, they are just really dusty. I have had A1RM's and I had to take them out, they were just horrible, squealed like a pig.

Tried the ones below that, HPX, which were more passenger car orientated to be honest, and work not so great at the track.

From there I went Project Mu HC800 and they have been really good for street and track. Been able do 5+ laps at RAC with no fade, with fresh fluid & DBA 5000 rotors.

Compound Hyper Carbon
Rotor Temp 0~800℃
Friction 0.38~0.62μ

Silicone turbo inlet doesn't do much for performance, but gives you a better induction noise. The AVO ones are best, as they are a one piece, but I've seen plenty of cars with eBay ones that go fine. Just make sure its all plumbed up properly when you put it in - best to put in whilst the intake manifold is off, as it's a bitch of a job otherwise!

A1RM pads are best bang for buck. Talk to Greg at GSL rallysport.

Default Ringland anyone?

Yes. Vacuum hose. But already got the big 3 inch AVO turbo inlet hose too.

Feels like it is very tight onto the turbo so will need to stretch it a bit. You would never be able to fit it currently if it was in the car with the manifold on. Way too tight.

Good to get some good feedback on the HC800. Sounds like they are the replacement for the B Spec pads that I currently use from Project Mu.
