Default Lets talk about spring rates? :)

Hey yall.

First mod after upcoming tune will be a set of coils

Um on the subject i know fuck all about springs rates I've contacted the supplier he recommends 8kg Front 7kg Rear for middle ground set up for the occasional track day. He also said could go the option of 10kg front and 10kg rear for even more aggressive set up don't know but that sounds abit much?.

If i didn't daily my car i would defiantly commit to 12kg front and 11kg rear but just trying to find the sweet spot for spring rates.

Camber, castor, toe have already an I idea what i like ill so no need to mention that.

First set of coils so yea no idea about spring rates.

Personally o thinl it's not just about spring rate, quality of monotube is also very important.

I think 9 front and 7 rear is plenty. Have u got sways?

Gas shocks will make the effective spring rate higher.

Get the new electro KW's. My V3's are nice. An electrically adjustable version should be even better.

I did 6/6 f/r and when I spoke to Josh and Murray at MCA they proposed a minimum of 7/6 for a compromise of track and street.
If you are looking at getting serious with track work, then they recommended 8/7 as a minimum, not too sure how this would feel as a daily driver.

If they are too hard then just take some big burly guys for a drive along some rough country roads and it will soften them up slightly. My old coil overs on my gc8 were brutal until I took some mates to the chilli festival in Araluen.
