Default WRX 08 Hatch Slower then expected

Car: Subaru Impreza WRX Hatch 2008

Hi,

Just want to get feedback from some fellow car enthusiasts after I got some surprising results from my dyno tune. I went to a local Brisbane tuner (CNJ Motorsports) and my dyno sheet noted I had a max KW output of 158.8 at 5200rpm.

I'm aware that the 08 WRX has a significantly smaller turbo then the 09 model but I wasn't expecting a KW output of only 158. When I picked up the car I did note that the AC was running on half blast, could this have affected the dyno run and caused it to slow?

Over the past month I've made the following modifications.

-18x8 Rota Gravel Hyperblack Rims
-Ultrex TBE 3 Inch
- COBB SF Air Intake + Box (Installed day of tune)

I was honestly expecting around 170-180KW, could the AC have been an issue? I could be wrong, any thoughts?

What about that written on the dyno sheet ....too lean run aborted and did you send the car for a tune or a power run with your untuned mods?

Normal. It's a roller dyno dude. Numbers are going to be much lower than a hub dyno.

Worry about how it feels as opposed to how it looks on paper.

Ok cool, I just needed piece of mind that this was normal and something wasn't wrong with my car. Car feels great otherwise!

Edit: And sent car in for a tune.

Looks fine honestly, my 08 wrx with the stock turbo and just a tune for the downpipe only made 208hp on paper at the hubs. Don't worry so much about the peak figure.

AC does sap engine power when in operation. But all modern motor vehicles actually momentarily disengage the AC compressor at full throttle to free up that power.
