Only reason im not sporting a TBE, nobody here can tune the bastard realtime!

I dont like aftermarket comps for a road car, doesnt work IMHO = piggyback good for cold starts etc.

So summarising all above....
For GC8 owners the Verso isn't a viable option as yet, leaving us with just the Power FC and ECUTek yeah?

Nobody in perth tunes MY00's or back, and STI's from what i told are tuned pretty border edge and putting a TBE on gives them all sorts of problems.

Full ecu's need lots of time to tune it seems, at least for perth dynotuners. And that means money and time, both i cant waste.

Piggyback leaves the original coldstart and other settings and only plays with what they need from what im told and you can remove them for return to OE for sale or otherwise.

Sounds good to me.

Ok then... With the piggyback ecu's...

So how do you regulate a static tune with an active learning ecu?

You can't - simple as that.

I wouldn't go with a ECUTek on a MY00. I inquired about it a few months back before I got my Link, the main problem is the AFM. It tends to fail quite commonly and when it does... BOOM....Not to forget the fact that no one in WA would be competent to tune it.

You can get a Link installed and tuned for a little over the price of a Tek 2.
Sure you miss out on map points and the cold start issues can be annoying, but on a 00 it's probably a lot safer!!

I hope now there is talk of a verso tune on an MY00 back, they have found a way to do without the AFM!!
