Tode,

I was having some issues a while back where the car was losing power/surging randomly. I replaced the fuel filter, did a can of upper engine clean and put an injector cleaner through the car and it has never had a problem since...

cheap DIY's that may help.

cheers

Brett

seems it is starving itself from fuel, running lean.

it was suggested that a maxed out afm (maxes out 1.2 bar - or thats when the surging/sputtering starts)

It could also be that the fuel sock is being starved - as it is crushed at the bottom of the tank...Im taking the pump out again now to see whats going on and if i can make the sock sit up higher somehow

here are some picks of the pump on the assembly.

you can see what i mean how i think it sits too long...

Prob is I dont know how i can make the fuel sock sit higher. Looking at it and how it sits on the fuel tank... (the sock sits on a right angle against the bottom of the tank) it is really being crushed and starved...

here you can see how iv cut the top metal line to make the pump sit higher

and here is the bottom fittings i bought from go gear. the black threaded fitting is for the 044, and some speedflow fittings to fit to the end of the threaded one which has a hose connection to suit. Note there is no more room left in the hose to be shortened, it is end to end directly in there...

Id like to see some pics of people who have fitted these pumps in tank (or any larger bosch pumps). Im really out of ideas on how im going to raise it up higher unless i start hacking the fittings...

I think the bag needs to be sitting around the same height as the black level float.
