Your Brant may have a battery backup just in case the main battery runs flat. I'm not sure as I don't have a brant.

2nd method works and is piss easy. Do that.

It might be in limp mode for a reason.

Consider having it looked at by a workshop.

I connected the black and green plugs and the car started testing itself, the engine check light just stayed on and didnt blink at all.

If you followed the procedure step by step and took the car for a drive keeping above 11kmph the all clear is a 1/2 second steady flashing of the CEL.
If it stays on permanently you have a problem with your car. Most probably a sensor of some sort.
Take the car to a Workshop listed at the start of this Mechanical section so they can read the fault code.

It far too hard to track down the problem yourself, you will waste time and money. Let the ECU do it for you.

No i didnt reset the ECU, just followed the CEL fault check

1: connect greeen to green, black to black.
2: turn ign on.
3: car tested itself and engine light stayed solid the whole time.
