I totall agree with fozzy..

Cops are humans too and I think they do a fantastic job. However like humans, and in any day to day situation, some humans are absoloute fuckwits and others are the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. Thats just life, you have to take the good with the bad.

Related with this topic, I bought adrenalins green wrx, and it has a missle switch next to the handbrake, (for dual stage boost). I was pulled over once by a cop, that spent 10mins searching my car for a NOS bottle, because he was convinced that that switch was hooked up to a NOS bottle somewere. The switch was not even connected at the time......

I use the words

Sir
Please
Thankyou

When speaking to Police, and only once (my last pull over, at 4am in my driveway of all places) has a officer not showed me some courtesy back.

Agree with Clint, im not going to admit to doing something I didnt.

A policeman starting his convo by saying to me "why where you trying to get away from us?" doesnt phase me when my immediate reply is "I live here"

Respect goes two ways, give it and get it.

i totally agree, the only time i will be on the defensive or sometomes a "smart ass" is if they are just being plain stupid eg: permits for factory fitted parts, i will argue my case if warranted

im lucky as well, ive never had a prick of a cop pulled me over, everytime ive been pulled over its been for a fair reason, or if it has been a random pull over, when it has they have been pretty nice about, twice ive been pulled over for a random inspection, once on my white rex, and on my blue my99, both times not spoken to rudely or asked stupid question, just given fair and ligitmate reasons for defective mods, both times just gave me warning and asked me to change it.

Yyes they are only human but i do agree there are alot of pricks in uniforms out there, and those are the ones that give others a bad name, and you may as well respect them asm uch as they do you.

yeah i have had many of run ins with the police some of the most recient was i was speeding doin about 60 maybe in a 50 zone and the cop pulled me over as he was goin the other way and thought that i was speding and no proof. so when he came up to the window i said "hey sir how are you" and i got back "dont call me sir its only going to make this worse for you" ???? WTF am i meant to call you??? He then went through the car and was going to give me a yellow for the bov and managed to convince him that it was recirculating and therefore legal (which it is not lol) and he let me go.... Next was pulled over the next day!! because the officer heard my bov and searched my car and was going to do me for having bald tyres and being too low... didn't even mension the bov was just an excuse to pull me over :S and two days ago the mechanic was pulled over in my car doing a test drive with the new gearbox fitted and it finally got yellowed for the tres having no tread..... most cops are alright but there is the occational few that just want to be difficult

i bought my old clubspec evo 4 with a tow ball on it....got fined for it "making the licence plate illegible"...sure it did...if you looked at it with your head on the ground!

and when my current rex got broken into and i called the cops...."would you like us to file a report?" hmmmm and "are the thieves still in the area?"...no comment needed....

no disrespect to the police but stop employing idiots who must have been bullied when they were at school and now think they can get revenge on the rest of society!

or maybe im just getting all the bad cops.....ive never been a smart ass or anything to them..they just seem to hate me

Some managers / bosses / superiors are well aware of what some of their staff are like and will be pretty helpful and get the problem sorted.
*sigh* Again, as Ive previously said, I wasnt complaining, if I had a serious problem with what went on, I would have got details of him and made a complaint, seems though, that as soon as Ive put a post about something, its automatically assumed Im complaiing about them.
It was meant as a light hearted post, some people have taken it as a rant.
IT IS NOT A RANT!

I get pulled over often enough, since Im on the road alot, doesnt really bother me, Im used to it, and 99% of the time, the cop is polite, and really, not such a bad person.
Im always (except in this 1 instance) polite, not a smartass, or anything.

As for the title, its a joke, again taken too seriously....

I have never critisised a cop for fining me when I did something to deserve it, nor will I, they are only doing their job. They seem to catch a lot of flak for it too. eg. "Fucking cop gave me a ticket" when the driver was doing over well over the limit....... to that, I say, 'you deserve it'

Its just a pity where on the odd occasion, you come across a cop who wants to be a prick. Then again, look at it this way, if he catches you speeding, and he has a bad attitude toward you. You never know, he may have just attended a bad accident where someone needed scraped off the pavement.
