Some do - like watermelon for example.

All of them will raise your sugar level to some extent, but its not bad.

A boost juice, can of coke, virutally the same.

Seems well suited

Just looked it up on calorie king, my favourite boost juice has more sugar per millilitre than a can of coke. Whether its "healthy" sugars as opposed to processed ones I dunno, but it doesn't get a very good rating anyway. Wont be going back there I think.

What I mean is that will eating an apple or similar give a similar spike in blood sugar? Fruit is high in fructose, aka sugar, so the fruit based smoothies would be expected to be high sugar.....

All food spikes it of course.

Ill just simplfy it so it easy to make sense of.

If your blood sugar level was 1.0 and you ate an apple or two, two hours later your sugar might be 1.5

Have a boost juice, and its going to be like 3.5

What you have to keep in mind is that the majority of smoothies use concentrated juice therefore the amount of sugar is way higher ( and calories ) than just one piece of fruit. Lets say it takes 6 apples to make 1 glass of apple juice which then means you are getting 6 X calories and sugar. Then we can go onto the fact that alot of the fibre is taken out in the juicing process which means that the juice will be broken down by the body alot faster which means that your blood sugar levels will spike.
