haha, the celestia is a few months newer than the samsung.

i' reducing the rez to 720p now,

so after setting the problem ps down to 720P, it worked fine on the samsung. Did an auto rez check and its gone up to 1080i.

hell yeah!

problem solved. the samsung just cant pick up the 1080p.

go the 'chinaspec' !

Your Celestial is a generation 4 plasma (usually based on phillips or Lg components) and the samsung a gen 3.

That issue must have been fixed on Samsung Series 4, as i can set my Xbox360 to 1080i/1080p and the screen still shows it up fine despite it not being a true-HD tv.

Yeah 1080 P and 1080p 24/25 is gen 4 onward technology.

*Some* earlier plasmas can't decode the signal.
