mine should be straight forward for them since I'm not living in it so I won't be as fussy
what's more important is the handover time
is it in the contract the expected completion time?
what happens if they go over?

most builders will not give you a set in stone handover date as there is a lot of variables but you can normally get a ball park once the slab is down but don't count on it , your building a house , not putting together something from ikea!

i have seen a house that went pretty far over the handover date (5 months) and we subsidized the clients rent while it was being finished but it was in the contract.

also i worked for Metrostyle/in-vogue for a couple of years , good builder with a good experienced team so you will be fine.

happy building.

thanks for the info
it seems that the site supervisor is the key factor in whether the job gets done properly

do you know supervisors at Metrostyle you can recommend?

^^^ I don't think you get a choice of supervisors its more that they all work in a area and you get the one in that area.

I have started finding problems with my house.

I built thru BGC

1. cracked roof tiles - the roof tiler tried blaming us for breaking them.. i hate heights wouldnt catch me dead up there. The maintenance manager was alot more helpful than the roof tiler.
2. my solar hot water system is not connected so my hot water is running straight from gas - not happy jan.
3. where i had a crack in my slab it has now come thru and i can see it under my carpet. when it was laid they did an engineering test on it so i dont know whats going on.

BGC are horrific for a construction company, best of luck with sorting out the problems - should have it covered under warranty though.
