well i clicked Shift and upgrade instead of restore worked a treat thanks.
normally not so worried but it was a friends phone and doing it while i was at work for them in a time frame so didn't need problems haha.

Finally got the all clear for a Free Upgrade from Optus! 32gb iphone 3GS here i come!! Tim, i'm coming over to steal aps and learn how to use i-tunes :P

I've moved now, in Duncraig atm. Don't have a problem with coverage. Keeping my old phone and getting a Telstra 3G sim for it, for when I go away for work. Thats the only time I suffer coverage wise.

I know I wont look back, been hanging out for one for aaages! Finally, they waived the $572 fee to cancel my plan! God Bless Optus!

3.1 is good for me but mine isnt jailbroken etc. Noticably quicker surfing net over wifi.

ImPreSiV - dont forget to get your old phone unlocked from network free b4 you leave contract (if you havent already)

Having trouble with my Maps (GPS) on mine, keeps saying my
current location is a vacant block in Bentley

Been doing this all week!

yeah but if a 3GS is on 3.1, it may not be possible to jailbreak.
