house got broken into in Hillarys once... they didnt get much. we think our dog disturbed them and they took off (no one was home). Other break in was in Bentley - no dog. We were home and asleep for that one. Didnt wake up till we heard the car taking off down the street lol

hairspray or some other "normal" spray can near the bed used to be standard for me. Pretty sure hair spray in the eyes would be enough to give you a chance to get away.. or attack with back up weapon

now dont bother with any of that ...3 dogs in our house. 1 x bloody noisy very brave Westie who is very on the ball. And 2 x 65kg dogues that can be very menacing when they want to be.

Always encouraged to bark and go and investigate when they hear a strange noise.

I agree dogs are great to have but make sure you can look after them -
feed, clean, walk, wash - etc

The other thing you gotta worry about if you decide to fight them and they get away, is they might come back with reinforcements later just for the sake of payback.

Even if they get caught, they still know where you live.

yeah very true also..

honestly best thing is to prevent as much as possible rather than deal with afterwards.
If your alarm went off during the night as they tried getting in. they would be out of there right away. You are alerted woken up. Lock ya door ring cops, if you got cameras you then have footage of them leaving.

Cameras are not for everyone due to the cost. But an alarm system with night mode is a must, including covering your garage. I just cant understand why more people dont do it.

Wish today tonight and aca would put the same pressure on thieves that they put on "hoons". In the last two months I've had an attempted break in, my purse stolen and my 11 yr old sons bike stolen. It seems even if they are caught they get little more than a slap on the wrist. Move the insane penalties slapped on so called hoons onto actual low life scum.

someone jumped our fence once to get away from the cops and our dog took this dude down like there was no tomorrow, i saw it as well, she launched her self and hell took him out then i saw cops and she was about to attack them so i had to run out and stop her, was some funny shit, wish i had gotten it on video when it happened, happened years ago though
