Hi,
Careful where you keep your anti intruder devices. As far as I'm aware if you do serious damage, and it's brought to light that you keep the weapon close by for that exact reason, you can find yourself in a bit of hot water. On topic. Living in Perth, apart from tens of attempted and successful break ins (all in flats, so they know there's no dog), I remember living in a rear loaded duplex, so a very long driveway. I always thought this would be enough to deter would be thieves. They were in the garage, cutting through the roof of my old man's Jag, to steal the removable head unit (XJK - horrible unit - probably a bit flash at the time though?). The dog from the front house awoke, went mental, and they sprinted out the drive dropping the stereo near the front of the house. So, that was dog : 1, thief : 0. Cheers, Nik

my dog is friendly, unlikely to actually attack, but he would still make noise and let me know something was going on.

If you break the knob head's face and it goes to court you will most likely be in the shit. You want objects you know will do damage, but are justified house hold items. Maybe a vase or even a glass bottle. Screw drivers and other tools are good if you can justify a need for them (e.g. you might have trouble trying to justify a chainsaw in the living room.....) It's a joke though. My house=my rules. If some cunt wants to break in, he should have to pay the price. |
