haha 24/7 might not work. I would like shops to be open till at least 8pm on the weekdays. Only problem is more staff, higher costs.

Exactly

As a consumer of course I want it but as a retail business owner I have enough trouble getting people to work Thursday nights and Saturdays now, let alone Sundays.

When I arrived in WA in 1987 the shops closed at 6pm and 1pm on Saturday and no Sunday trading. To buy petrol on Sundays you had to look in the newspapers for the rostered stations open. We have progressed somewhat but we are still the most backward arse place in the modern world for commerce and business. Couple it with payroll tax and needless other costs the Govt impose on business owners and you can easily see why?

Dont get me started on daylight savings
