2 grand is a fairly hefty fine. Whats the fine for driving with dodgy breaks? no lights? Those are by far more stupid things to do, and 10 bucks say the fine is cheaper.

If we loose our detectors, the other option i can think of would be to use that "spray" that you spray on your plates that reflects the cameras flash. if it even works.

Reflecting spray---
The spray was used on wife’s car 2 or 3 years ago.
6months ago she had a camera flash, then got a ticket.
So I’d need some convincing that it works! maybe it wears off.

This stuff is ghey and widely proven as totally ineffective. The only thing that actually worked was the obscuring numberplate covers but these are easily seen by the police and are illegal also.

What fine... breaks and no lights just get a yellow sticker...

they should be getting rust buckets with no breaks off the road
and people who have no licence no insurance..
and drunks off the road they are the people who are going to run a red light one day and hit us or a loved one..

but yet they wana give 2k fines for fucking radars...

but what makes me angrey is where do we speak our mind or how to we get heard its one thing to all talk about it to our selfs on a restricted forum
how do they put our point across to the lady her self.. and get a questions answered. maybe to better understand or at least be heard
not going to happen really is it..

Parliament doesn't sit until Tuesday 7 March commencing at 2:00 PM - so the bill won't be introduced till at least the 8th of March I'd say.

If she's banging on about it now, the PCO will have written the bill and it'll be ready to fly. If you've heard about it in the media at this stage, t's also practically a given that it'll get up.

I spend a fair bit of time in Mandurah and have never really had any problems - can't recall getting a fine there.

As Mat said if you keep your eyes on the road the chances of getting a fine really are minimal, there are usually plenty of "hints" that a speed camera is nearby.
