Do you play any form of sport Tim?

i just took 2 years away from Hockey (from playing at a state level) and found motivation to stay fit a huge issue with a busy work and uni schedule...Never got into any routine as shift work fucks with your body clock and just ran and did weights when i could, it all got very boring and repetitive to the point where i just stopped.

After 2 years of feeling lazy i couldnt handle feeling shit everyday so i started playing hockey this season, pre season was a big wakeup call, i always took my fitness for granted but once you loose it, it's a huge shock as to how difficult things are! i was sore for 2 weeks straight back in Feb but now have a fairly solid base fitness level to work with.

Pros
- Your in a group
- competitive
- generally it will be alot more fun and varied than just running
- you have a coach running you into the ground each session
- Alot cheaper than a gym
- Cheaper than a gym for fees etc.

Cons
- probably lacks flexibility

my 2 cents

Or just ask about Macey's workout plan
Ha, my workout plan is simple, 30-40 min on the treadmill with the i-pod cranking each morning.

What about you Haydo, back into the fitness caper yet or still just talking about it

I like the idea of the beach, kings park runs. Might look into that one.

Problem with most of those groups is they are designed for people who barely work
and always are at hours to close to working hours.
Boot Camp 6am and 6pm - Mon, Wed & Fri

I goto gym - But have one here at work downstairs. Freeee. Have a P/T come in once a week and do a high-intencity circuit. Goto that and do my own thing down there the other 3 days a week.

I did go to gym for a while, but my nearest Gym is near the Cockburn central station and its just too much effort getting there before work in the morning. Its just too hard to motivate yourself to get up at 5:30 so you can gym from 6-7 before work every morning.

for general fitness, nothing beats running.

if you want a running buddy on a weekend run i'd be happy to run with you. lake monger is a pretty nice place to run with lots of scenery and other distractions

1 lap of the lake ~ 3.5km
