Your fund is only as good as your next hospital visit.

I'm with HBF as are 99% of people in WA, and the 4 operations I've had, have been almost fully covered by HBF with only a small gap.. I cannot complain whatsoever.

sorry for digging up old thread.... but rather than start a new one.....

Finally got my shit together and been looking at private health (mainly to avoid medicare levy)
At this point, I am only looking at the minimal hospial cover with ambulance, no extras.
I've narrowed it to HBF & NIB.

Anyone here with NIB or had experience with them? any good?

Or if anyone has any recommendations for anyone else for basic cover?

No complaints about HBF (except maybe they charge a fair bit and it seems to go up year after year after year - but they all do).

which ever is the one I end up paying through the ass for at tax time. Works out cheaper to pay for private health

You may find it beneficial to discuss with your relevant health care provider if the type of policy you're seeking to undertake is the right one to achieve your desired outcome.

All private health insurance fund costs go up on April Fools' every year... I believe this is regulated, as are the increases to some degree

HBF is cool.

Just make sure you check what you are paying for. I'm covered for pregnancy!

Been baking this baby for 10 years now, should be a good one!
