While you are certainly correct about lack of speed signage please don't think a GPS speed advisory system is the answer. It is then only a minor step to enforcement using these devices in future. Every time you stray you will be fisted and pay for the privilege to have the unit.

My biggest speed signage issue is time based ( ie school zones ) that have no indication of weather they are active or not. Try riding a motorbike with no clock while wearing a proper jacket and gauntlet gloves. If you guess 5 min early some spanner wants to run you down. 5 minutes late you get fisted.

When are people going to wake up and plead innocent CLOG THE FUCKING COURTS it might cost you a bit of time and an extra $40 but it'll take 5years to hear your case.

I also think it's time a protest was held blocking all major arteries/freeways leading to Parliament House with people walking in front of cars holding a flag like they did back in the early days of motoring to stop some of these draconian money grabbing laws.

A triumph of stupidity over logic.

No attempt to catch people for anything other than speeding.

No point complaining, because you cant rationalise with people who are irrational.

Even if everyone got done for $75 (minimum speeding fine), times that by 8000.... $600000
That would have EASILY paid for the camera and many many donuts.

P.S. I saw a multanova still in use on Oorong Road the other day. It actually shocked me and i thought it was a false alert because i haven't seen one used in about 3 months since they started rolling out the new cameras...

Speeding fines in WA as at 1/1/2010:

Less than 9 km/h - $75 0 Demerit Points
10 km/h - 19 km/h - $150 2 Demerit Points
20 km/h - 29 km/h - $300 3 Demerit Points
30 km/h - 39 km/h - $700 5 Demerit Points
More than 40 km/h - $1000 7 Demerit Points

So exactly 20 would be $300 and 3 demerits.
They will generally reduce your actual speed by 1 or 2 so you might be lucky.
