Rossco will be interested to see how you go on these. Been smoking just over 20 years and am over it - except the fact I'm an addict.
Have gone cold turkey 3 times and always fall back. So for me now it's either Champix or perhaps the E-cig dependent on your view of it.

You would look like a complete idiot using that thing though??... Cold turkey, thats how I quit :-D That and taking a cup of water outside when the smokers went and sipping on that instead of smoking,.. worked a treat.

Ahh Champix, the pill of dreams...........really vivid fucking dreams, the sort you want more of, but they work and work well, after smoking for close to 35yrs apart from a couple of times when I went cold turkey (last time 13yrs ago) I took my new doc's advice.
I started taking Champix about 8 weeks ago and because you keep smoking you set your own date within 2 weeks of starting the 3 month course, I gave up on the 15th day and apart from the odd desire I've barely thought of them since, though in the last couple of days I've cut down to half a pill a day instead of 2 so can wean myself off them (I could kill for one now writing this) but I'm determined to stay off especially after just having 2 failed operations to clear the main artery in my leg and now having to go back next month for a week to have the fucking thing replaced. Poxy smokes & shit diet = high cholesterol & diabetes & I'm not even fat grrrrrr They were really pushing those E smokes on late night TV when I was in China a year ago, just like the nasty gold watches & cheap steam cleaners......enough to put me off them.

Definitely keen on giving this a go and more importantly convincing the mrs to do it as she smokes double what I do and the money saving potential is huge.

The E9 looks & feels like a normal ciggy....1 cart (300 puffs) is equivalent to 18 normal smokes. the down side is the battery life is 2 hours max...This is the one to use at work (it has a usb charger). The black one (E-go) has a different set up, it has a battery thats 4 times the capacity of the E9. it also allows 'dripping' of the juice of choice directly on to the atomiser - this makes more vapor & the taste is cleaner. This ones for home use.
