Finally getting glasses after putting it off for years. My mind is blown at the amount of stuff i haven't been able to see. At least i only have to wear them for a few years until i can get surgery.

lol so true. I wear contacts when I play sport, and by the time I have finished training/game I forget how crap my eyesight is...until I take them out again and BAM, welcome back to blurry-town haha
Still it is nice that we are able to fix the issue so easily btw there are now contacts you can wear 24/7 for a month at a time, so that might be something you can 'look' into while you wait for the surgery

As weird as its going to sound, but when you fit glasses for the first time, its like taking a deep breath after being under water for ages!
I love looking at stars at night now... never saw anything but fuzziness.

They wouldn't let me get contacts without getting glasses first. I probably won't bother with contact though seeing as the glasses cost so much i might as well wear them.

I have been wearing glasses for about 8 years now. Never realised how bad my eyes were until I put on someone elses glasses at work one day and I could read stuff more than 2m infront of me, and the colours appeared to be brighter. I've tried contacts and I don't think the brand I had agreed with my eyes, so I found them really irritating. It's annoying wearing glasses, but I am used to it now.

Would rather wear glasses than risk my eyes with surgery, even though the complications rate is extremely low.

The 5 people I know who have gone through the procedure still suffer from dry eyes

Happy I went through the surgery 10 years ago. Had dry eyes, mainly in the winter, for a couple of years but all good now.
