Dan, what could you get on these?

My contact at Harvey Norman said he has 10 units (530's) and we can get them for $ 360.00 each Apparently they are selling out really quickly, very popular.

Works great.

You need to tidy up a bit before turning it on as it likes to get caught. Better suited to hard-surface floors eg vinyl, tiles, laminate

Still works on carpet, but I find it isn't powerful enough to do a proper job.

Kinda cool how it finds its way back to base from another room!

Looks like it should do a great job at keeping my house half decent with minimal effort!

I gave up waiting and got the cheapo one from Harvey Norman. Does a pretty good job :-)

thinking of getting one of these after reading this thread.

house has blackbutt floors but we get alot of 'dust bunnies' from a few thick wool rugs & the odd bit of sand from the kids shoes.

what sort of maintenance does a roomba need?
how long does it run on a charge?

cheers

Just need to empty it's trash bin before each clean.

Don't know how long it goes for, but its long enough to clean a house. It doesn't do a perfect job every time, but it saves heaps of cleaning.

Just need to make sure that there is minimal clutter on the floor or anything that it can get caught on such as clothing/cables etc. Or you just close the door to the rooms you don't want it to do; or use one of the virtual walls they come with to block it off

we sell these things at work and people love them

some of them will go back to their dock and charge themselves up again if they are low on battery before heading out to clean again.

ahh ok, so no bags, filters or brushes to need replacing/cleaning?
what would it do if it came to a 10mm high rug on the floor,? drive over it & keep working, get stuck or avoid it alltogether?
cheers

It does need it's brushes cleaned every now and then, only really a problem living with women who malt everywhere. Fairly easily procedure though, one brush has a screw, the others are just clipped in. You only need to do it when there is a buildup of hair and fluff around the brushes etc.

The filter probably does need replacing every now and then, just like any other vacuum cleaner, but TBH I haven't done mine yet and I have probably owned it a couple of months already!

The unit is pretty versatile, it tackles the mats I have at home, but I don' t know about a big thick one. 1cm doesn't sound like too much for it to handle.
