There's a lot of Cowboys out there John 'and no I am not pointing any fingers at anyone specifically', there are also a lot of businesses out there that don't invest in education/training/development or just want to pump out large numbers of returns for minimal overhead.
Personally due to the changes in the Tax Agent Services Act I'd expect to see a reduction in refunds overall. ^ (Assuming all things being equal)

I go and see an ex ATO auditer to do my tax, have been since I was recommended by someone here. I would never ever go see H&R Block, or any of those "pump it out in half an hour" tax 'agents'.

The reason i changed to Wealth Creations is that the owner of the company is a family friend, and i was moaning about having to pay more tax rather than receiving a credit. When he did my tax he asked questions that my previous accountant had never asked, it was just more thorough IMO. Was cheaper too.

Oh how I miss the tax of actually getting money back at tax time.
Expecting another 10-15k bill this year.

My accountant charges me $100-$120 - H&R Block is the same roughly, but it doesn't matter because you claim that back, and then my accountant claims the fuel to get to him as well, etc etc...
