I seriously do not understand why road cyclists wear lycra for casual riding. If you're competing or something and every partial second counts then fine. For a Saturday ride around town for fitness or whatever, why the fuck would you??

I wear running shorts over padded cycle shorts and a bright orange or red lycra top so cars can see me. I hate clothing flapping around is why.

I am a competitive cyclist,
But many non-competitive people wear it because,
a) it is alot more comfy to ride in(padding and no chafing)
b) it doesent flap around in the wind
c) many support their local bike shop and wear the shop kit
