First of all let me just say credit to people who do cycle fucking crazy distances every week wish I had the stamina/courage/fitness level to be able to do it ! Buuuuttttttt......

You don't need lycra to cycle as Tris has stated XC race shorts with padding more than suffice for most people unless your a triathlete or similar, showing your package to other blokes/women is just fucked putting it blankly. I and most people don't wanna see your junk or quads/lats/whatever.

I hate it on a Saturday or Sunday morning when I go to either Txtshots or Dome and some dick rocks up blocking the entrance with his toy racer (that my fat ass would more than likely snap if I rode it) shows up with him and 30+ other fags all stinking of B.O and race inside cutting me off from my coffee all paying separately, one day there gonna realise that I cut them off/got stupidly close when they rode 3-4 abroad on the road I don't mind the odd cyclist that is riding in single file or by themselves it's when they do ride in a fucking pack that SHITS me....Pay rego on you bike as well as your car then ride on the fucking road no rego no road riding in saying that most councils need to upgrade there paths to accommodate today's stupid cycles !

Yes you can get shorts with inbuilt padding, but lycra shorts are fuckloads more comfortable.

Phil, i'll ride to coffee on sat and give you bulk hugs in my lycra

Like I said, my point of view on cycling kit is one from a performance perspective- just trying to make a point that lycra serves a purpose, even if it's not to everyones taste.
I don't disagree, there are douchebag cyclists- but there are also douchebags everywhere else...
It's shit how the coffee shop weekend warrior/wankers- who are the pricks riding 3-4 abrest on a single lane road, give the decent cyclists a bad image.
Pisses me off even more when people tar everyone with the same brush, and decide it's up to them to 'teach us a lesson' and abuse/drive dangerously past us when were obeying road law.
However there is no way any cyclist should have to pay rego- what next, charge everyone "padestrian" fees for the priveledge of walking on pathways?

What would you ride on if there were no roads?

Cycledrome? And I guess you pay to use those?

Well rego pays for the creation and maintenance of roads..

yours sincerely,

someone who doesnt care but asks the logical question

Personally I ride for fitness

I also ride my dual suspension MTB on the road. I wear board shorts and a t-shirt

Yes, it takes longer. It also takes a fark load more of an effort. Ultimately I get fitter.

If I wanted to get there as fast a possible with least resistance - I'd jump in my car.

I also have a road bike. Lately it's stayed up on the hooks as I much prefer kerb jumping when going places.

My $0.02
GTB Liberty and ausyve like this.

Stuff your padded shorts and lycra.

My ass comes pre-padded for extra softness.

When I ride I ware Lycra garnished with tight fitting leather. Bitches love leather.

When I want gay men to see my cock I don't ware over sized speedos to the coffee shop, I just flop it the fuck out and vigorously twist my waist from side to side with my hands in the air like I just don't care singing YMCA. They usually cheer and clap in time with it like 4yr olds at a wiggles concert.
