I was lucky i got in just before the big rise nearly a year ago paid 320k for mine now its worth 500+

For most people the interest going up wont matter that much will only change ur payments by $100 here or there. nothing much anyway.

Same here man. $256K for mine, now it's blown up to $400K+. F'ing crazy.
My interest is fairly steady..

I have this feeling, I sold just at the right time, The bubble is going to burst this year and housing prices will fall.
When the interest rate gets put up a fraction of a percent and people who have over commited themselves will default on payments and bargains will be had!
I have my termsaver set up just waiting to strike on a good deal.

housing market will stay strong for a minimum 18months - 2 years in which case it'll stabilise if anything.

That's also my plan.

I want to stay in this house at least a decade, I also want to owe the bank $0.00 in a decade, ideally a bit less.

I'm renting mine out to someone at the moment, so it's basically paying itself off.
Combined with my income, that interest is going down baby!

Ditto big boy. We're talking bricks and mortar not bits of paper. If you understood fundamental economics you will realize that for there to be ‘bargains’ we need a recession. What gets us out of a recession? Lower interest rates. So the idea that rising interest rates will equate to bargain properties is a pipe dream and those who are waiting for absolute bargains are 20 years too late.

So basically for those that haven't bought properties yet. U R best to start looking at investing in cheap units. If not look at buying properties with investment partners because breaking into the market nowadays is going to be expensive no matter what you try.
