Yup you have the option to drive all the way to Coles when you work next to a lunch bar or better still you could smuggle half a dozen crownies down ya pants next time you hit a club.........You also have the option to buy a shitty econobox or ease off the accelerator, when I started driving it was about 14c per litre, a new falcon was about $4,000 & I took home $38.83 as a 17yo working a 45 hour week at DJ's so it's all pretty much on par with 32 years ago........get over it.

Doing commerce hey? At least somebody here has some economics behind them
al is spot on aswell.

ps. since biodiesel is an alternative fuel, it attracts a lower excise duty. http://www.pm.gov.au/news/media_rele...elease624.html 19.1cents per litre.

Yeah that doesn't take effect for a while, the only thing you can do atm is apply for credits under the cleaner fuels agreement, pretty complicated but basically if your fuel is of standard and quantity you pay no excise until it is phased in in 2007 - 2009 from memory.

So I was thinking more about fuel prices as I spent $60 filling up our Mazda 2 today.

When I was 17, I could afford a shitbox car. I could also afford to fill it with fuel and maintain it to get around looking for work, getting to work, etc.

If I was doing it all again, I'd be screwed. If I was earning minimum wage, trying to be as mobile as possible, find gainful employment, etc, that extra $50 a week would just about kill me.

Fuck, I remember filling my VS Commodore for less than $20.

Housing market will keep going up for a bit i reakon then might settle to a set pace.
if interest goes up then there will be some people who will start to sell
but what can they do.
I was lucky i got in just before the big rise nearly a year ago paid 320k for mine now its worth 500+

For most people the interest going up wont matter that much will only change ur payments by $100 here or there. nothing much anyway.

I'm hoping interest rates go up, those that can just afford the "fuck-off" mortgage they got from the friendly bank are forced to sell so I can clean up.

You could probably buy a new house in the outer suburbs for the amount you've spent on your car to date Pete....will you be buying another house if the market bursts or will you get another new engine instead?

(Did you get send the photo's of the remote bogger than fell down Invicta stope last week?!)
