Yeah no shit, some friend and I looking into producing Bio-Diesel, not heaps but just enough for a few fleets. The excise the government would put on it means the fuel would go from costing say 50c/L (40c to produce / 10c profit) to 96c/L now that is fucken bullshit!

i doubt very much that house prices will FALL at all. If they are overinflated in costs they will only slow down and then even off to the 'real' price. East Perth is a perfect example. 4yrs ago when I was looking to get a house, $250K was abot the average with some NICE apartments out there. Within a year that same apartment was selling for $350K - everyone jumped on the band wagon, bought all these houses as the area was developing and then made a killing on the new buyers a year later.

I've owned my house 4yrs now - its worth 3 times what I paid for it. Is it over valued? I certainly hope not...

fuel excise is needed. since its inelastic, thats where alot of their revenue comes from. where did you get 90 cents from? i thought the biodiesel excise was only 19.1cents?

the bubble is going to burst, I can tell you all the big earners in the mining industry are circling the pond at the moment, only a matter of time till things get tight..

govt are a fkin joke too, why not cut some fuel tax of the price and pass the savings to the motorist ?

but no they make like 7 million dollars everytime the price goes up a cent. why should they care ?

makes you wonder whos interests they really have at heart ....

Whinge Whinge, funny how nobody complains about paying $21 per litre for a crownie at the pub or $6 per litre for coke at the local lunch bar.
