Wireless Home Music Systems and HiFi Music Players from Sonos

^ Seems pretty bad-ass, But I don't think it looks like what OP is looking for. Looks more like it'd be used in an "having a few people around for drinks and board games" scenario, rather than a full home theater set up. Is the sound really that high quality and good from these? I might consider getting the sub and a few little bits myself if so lol.

Sonos (albeit very good) is NOT a home theatre 5.1 system.

It's an all in one integrated wireless multi room media server.

If you have no real issue with factory refurbished yamaha gear check out Excel Hifi.

Excel hifi

I have a fair few mates that have bought from there and it is basically top grade gear

Yamaha RX-V3900B Digital Home Theatre Receiver is a great unit.

Have seen it attached to a set of Paradigms and sounded excellent. The Anchor Bay video processing is some of the best.

I nearly bought their stand alone iScanduo as it is simply one of the best on the market.

Hey Shane,

my 2c, I rate my Onkyo amp. They run a little hot but nothing a little extra cooling fan cant sort. (only used when its getting abused) Will also run 2 zones (no additional amp) and 3 zones with an extra external power amp in the mix.

Re rears, the missus hates the clutter of all my gear so now have the surrounds (7.1) cut into the ceiling. As it is a living room as well it does definitely reduce the amount the AV gear can take over the room.

Recently upgraded my Aarons to Monitor Audio. Not a massive step forward to be honest. Still have the Aarons (black) in the shed and will sell for cheap. Are in perfect working order and punch hard. Welcome to take em and try them.

God damnit, now this thread makes me want to upgrade my fronts to new Paradigms. I currently run Mission fronts with Paradigm studio series centre and rears. I want to get the matching fronts but don't have 3.5k to spare

Can certainly vouch for focal speakers - the chorus series are simply awesome. I also had an energy subwoofer (before upgrading to focal) and it punched well above its weight. West Coast HiFi carry both brands, although the energy speakers are considerably cheaper.

I run a Yamaha amp - enough power (140w per channel) + 8x HDMI ports...so don't need a switch anytime soon! Again West Coast HiFi will do good deals on the Yamaha amps - but also worth looking at Eastwood HiFi (who also do Paradigm) - you can get a realy good deal, but you need to factor in shipping costs:

Hi Fi Specials

Love Eastwood Hifi. The guy writes some piss funny articles too.
They have the speakers I want for 2k down from 3.4k! Now I'm wishing I didn't buy rims/tyres
