Colleague of mine told me to buy this to stop the wipers from smearing, has anybody bought this and did it stop the smearing

Never used them. But autoglym glass polish + rainx work like a charm for me.

How old are the wiper blades? They might just need replacing? When they go brittle, they leave smears and if the car is outside in the weather that can happen pretty quickly.
