Sorry dude but alot of the older blokes here are speaking from experience... its only untill something goes bad that we realise we should have listened.

Cold hard fact is now some wrxs are getting into p platers price range the numbers will drop, WRXs (and RS Libs) will start to become rarer and increase in value. Despite this we still don't recommend you get one. Nothing in it for us. Good to see a forum that cares I guess. Either way good luck and if you get one spend a bit less on buying it and a bit in advanced driver training. Track days are good to check out what your car is capable of as well.

lol brent

the stats do speak truths...however i had my first wrx on my last year of p-plates and to be honest had very few if any hairy moments...never had a spin or anything.

At first i had alot of respect for its power etc and gradually ease myself into it and became very comfortable with the power and handling to the point where i refused to drive anything else because i didnt feel safe in something like mums camry!

eventually the quest for more power bought me to my current car and again i have alot of respect for it still after a year of ownership as its a bit of an animal especially in the wet and im still exploring both mine and my cars limits.

i think pronouncing your experience and karting etc was a litlte arrogant and a lot of newbies on here have got off on the wrong foot as they believe they are exceptional drivers already and start a thread implying they are gods of the road, driving is a constant learning curb and its great to see alot of the younger guys, including myslef supporting events such as AHG, collie etc to gain some real driver knowldeg and skills.

Hot tip number 1 is get to know your car, all that karting experience means shit when you push too hard into a corner and are understeering towards a tree. If you do buy a rex, get to know the car and its limits (AHG is a good place to start) and most definately know your limits as a driver!

happy motoring dude
