Default Project [REXPLOIT]

G'day Team... *apologies now for essay if you dont like to read*

Thought I might start a little thread about whats happening to the [REXPLOIT] mobile in the coming several weeks. Its been a fair time in the process... unfortunately... (through differing circumstances...) however, I'm excited as I can see the 'light at the end of the tunnel' by christmas. As modifying a WRX/Sti was a childhood dream, I cannot turn my back (yet) to the Subaru fold... however, I do think the next car for me just might be a visit to the darkside.

Take one former tracked car, 'basically stock' from Sti Ozzy Park circa mid 2006. (Mods at the time were king springs on standard Sti struts, EcuTek tune, different muffler, MMS shortshift kit, C-West front lip and 22B replica rear wing, for memory).

First to go was the standard gold 17's, (Went to Rob), insert Prodrive PFF-7's around Feb 2007. (Thanks John - WW). Shortly after, the following was bolted in/on in one savage attack on handling:

Whiteline 22mm front swaybar.
Whiteline 24mm rear swaybar.
Whiteline Front links kit.
Whiteline Rear HD gold links kit.
Whiteline XHD chassis mounts.
Whiteline front and rear strut braces.
HSD HR Coilovers, race springs.

Drove the car like this for a while. China spec exhaust also went on at this time. A Butler system will be fitted around Nov 15. Brakes were next to get some attention when they wore down. The car now sports:

DBA 4K front rotors.
DBA 650 street series rear rotors.
Standard 4 and 2 pot Brembo calipers remain.
MRT master cylinder support brace.
Matt black teflon coated braided lines from Wangara.
Elig 2021 pads all round.
Decent brake fluid.

As people that know me know my mentality, I am not one for 'get an intake, get a tune'. 'Fit headers, get a tune'. 'Fit an exhaust, get a tune', etc etc (You can see where im going with this). Ive been collating, and between now and xmas, the following will start to make its transition onto the car...

Bathroom love here-after! (Thanks Tino and Matt for the inspiration...)

One turbo: May turn out to be slightly large for application, once the final tune is done, Ill make a decision whether to keep it on, or downsize.

One oil cooler:

One catch can:

One silicon intake:

One front mount:

One radiator, yes Tak, its your photo - Im coming for one!

One set of Sti radiator hoses:

One set of GFB pulleys:

One set of assorted SAMCO hoses:

One set of MRT parallel fuel rails: (its not all the bits, but you get the idea).

One set of SARD squirters:

One intake: (AFM deleted - MoTeC will utilise MAP).

One set of headers:

And the brains behind the whole operation:

So yeah - thats a start for now. I'll update as things take shape. Looking for somewhere north of 300hp, we'll see what happens. As you can see from the photos, the trend I am using is to have everything red or matt black. (As the intake manifold is red anyway, this seemed like a logical place to start...)

There are a couple of other knick-knacks to go, or not photographed, (SARD FPR, Walbro in-tank pump, etc), but you get the general gist of it all. Basically now just need a 3 port boost solenoid, MAP sensor, some kind of boost control, wideband lambda, AIM dash, couple of other small things, and I should be well on the way to the majority of the bolt on mods.

Still deliberating pros/cons to either keep it internal gate, or go external/screamer. Based on boost levels, legalities, etc. Then comes the custom tint job from TKO in the new year. Then most likely after summer, car will go into the paint shop for a bit of a clean up, and be driven and enjoyed thereafter.

Cheers all... comments welcome. (Constructive feedback also). Fun times ahead...

Brent.

I really like how you've chosen different areas of the bathroom to shoot your subject. It's a pleasant change.
I have but one concern: where's the naked reflections?! Surely the catch can could have 'caught' us something. Or even the giant mirror which you so tactfully avoided.

Overall, very average. Two spuds.

Oh and fantastic collection of parts you got going there. 300HP should be easily achieved I would think.
