Hey dude!

Cheers... wont be long now. Looking very forward to it... Which car is yours? In all honesty, I see about 15-25 rex's/Sti's regularly blocking past mine... but just beep and wave next time if you see me out the front or garage... haha.

Brent.

Gday Danz...

Well, to put it simply, its been '2 forward - 1 back' for the last couple of weeks. Each hurdle has been overcome as it has arisen, but this, combined with most businesses (here and east) being shut from Dec 24 -> Jan 4, put me a couple of weeks behind.

Basically, here is some of the minor issues:

* The OEM timing belt markings were out, so I have put an aftermarket one in.
* The headers/uppipe, when jetcoated, didnt have masking tape/bungs inserted over/into threaded holes, so ceramic crap filled every bolt orifice.
* The headers/uppipe connect to each other, with a 3 bolt flange, (triangle shape), which, once the headers are sitting on the block, and the uppipe sitting where it should, you cannot tighten. Bit of dicking around holding them both 'nearly' in place, and you get there.
* I somehow rounded a nut on the front bumper/radiator support bar, which cost me a day or two. (14mm socket on it - dont know how).
* Parallel fuel rail conversion required a couple of extra bits from MRT.
* The new uppipe sits 'canted over' a degree or two towards the drivers side from where the old one did. And with the drain pipe under the new turbo fouling on the old turbo/uppipe support bracket, it was Dremel to the rescue again... lop a bit off, bore out the drill holes, and got it to go.

However, when I went to put the silicon pipe on, its not sitting exactly where I want it. Youll see what I mean when you see the car.

But, now that the new fuel system is just about plumbed in, (looks the goods), radiator is on the way, Butler exhaust is ready to go on, new MAP/BCS and WB sensors are awaiting fitment, front mount core is on, oil cooler is in, its looking good, and nearing completion.

Pretty much once im happy with the fuel system, silicon intake pipe goes on, drop intake manifold back on, exhaust goes on, cai pipe goes on, rest of the intercooler piping, drop the radiator in... insert new sensors... and it will be ready for a tune. I start work on Monday after 4 weeks break, however, might take a couple more I think...

Brent.

Turbo bolted in place properly. Exhaust fully bolted in. Front mount piping mocked in place to ensure correct fit. Silicon intake pipe in place. Tomorrow (sunday) should see fuel system finished. Then its drop on the new gaskets, intake manifold, bolt on couple of small pieces... then just about ready for a tune.

Noticed today, WB sensor has different plug to OEM loom under the car, however I 'think' Motec do a lead which should be able to go from the WB sensor plug, into the car. As I already bought the lead that goes from the connector on the board, to a square plug.

The fun continues... as does the learning.

Brent.

Couple of small new ones:

Muffler of new butler system. GOD it's GOOD to have a normal muffler again... and NOT an angle mount. Very happy:

Butler system basically in its entirety:
