Remember that unequal lengths are less efficient, so they won't make the same power as equal length headers.

imo there is no point buying another set of unequal length. just keep the std ones and remove the cat.

otherwise upgrade to equal length.

That's why I want to stick to unequal length headers. And I guess instead of saying lancer, in all fairness I should have said "anything non-boxer"

The ones on there are shit apparently, they've had problems with them before. Sean said he has Tomei on his WRX and he has never had any problems and he's running 575hp. So the upgrade won't so much be for the size or shape but more for the build quality and their ability to handle higher power outputs.

And yeah I know that staying with unequal length will cost me some power but in my mind to go to equal length and lose the boxer sound would bother me far more than losing 50hp or so would.

Call me old fashioned but part of what I love about rex's is the exhaust note of the boxer engine. V8's have always been my passion and it's the closest sound to a V8 you're likely to get from such a small engine by comparison.

Sounds like you're not mucking around!!

Speak to Pat at Mettams(Morley) about ways to get the noise down as there are a few other things you can do that hopefully won't reduce the flow as much! (my old WRX was stupidly loud after getting some new bits from ASG and they managed to quieten it down somewhat without taking away from the flow too much!)

Good stuff with the headers/turbo! Sean and Nic are definitely the ones to get advice from, so I'm sure you will be on your way soon!

Tomei unequal length still don't quite sound boxerish. Damos car has them and sounds like an NA liberty
