Certainly will be, as long as I can sort out the fuel issue anyway.

Yep - but unfortunately whilst on the dyno it developed another exhaust leak at the extractors, which was caused in part by the added backpressure by the more restrictive muffler I had fitted to quieten it down.

I'm guessing the power outputs would have been down slightly as a result of the leak (not to mention the addition of the muffler cat) so best it would do was 387.7hp at just under 6200rpm and 480.5nm (flywheel torque) at just over 5000rpm.

But we found out that it isn't running any form of boost control so it's only running standard boost. A BCS has been ordered which should allow it to run another .3 - .5 higher boost which Sean thinks should easily get another 80 - 90 hp (atw).

So after a brief discussion with Nick and Sean, I've put down a deposit on a set of Tomei headers and a Garrett GT3788R which combined with the 150hp shot of NOS and boost control should get us well and truly to the 700hp mark.

Let the fun begin!!

hmm interesting about the 37R...

I think you will need NOS to get to ur chosen power level... but good idea on getting a better set of headers. You may find though the the headers may end up being restrictive as the diameter of them is about the same as stock.. To really get up there u need around 38-42mm IDA headers imo.. Well thats what the guys in the know have been saying...

Yeah the ones I saw looked considerably bigger than stock. Only thing is that I have to make sure they order uneven length and not even, last thing I want is my rex to start sounding like a prancer

Oh NOS is going on regardless, that was the main purpose of this exercise after all.

I just got the exhaust fixed, turned out to be a blown gasket so for once was an easy fix. I have to say, the dudes at Mettham Mufflers in Morley have been excellent, fitting me in at no notice several times now and they didn't even charge me for fixing the gasket. I know it was only a small job to them but still, I would have been happy to pay extra just to get it sorted so quickly.

Only problem is that now the headers are sealing properly, the noise out of the exhaust pipe has almost doubled. So now I'm finding myself driving around at 60-70km/h in 5th gear doing just over 2000rpm in order to keep the noise down to an acceptable level. Oh well, I knew when I bought it that it was anything but an ideal daily driver, only now are the effects of this fact starting to become apparent.

On the plus side, it goes like a one legged lesbian on a pogo stick!!
