Well part one of scary spec's birthday (very belated) happened yesterday.
Full service - all new oils to all orrifices, coolant, brake fluid replacment, rear end shock rebuild and the piece de resistance Cusco 1.5 way rear plated diff installed. Could feel the hook up of the diff immediatley and has (as expected) changed the overall feel of the cars handling. You can feel the push from the rear when powering on in corners. Very happy but may need to mess with the geometry and settings of the suspension a little bit now. Oh and the rear diff centre was a torsion LSD diff std which was a surprise instead of a viscous. |
interesting very interesting Shane, keen to go for ride now.

i love this car, in 4 months from stock to well modded!
|
Shane - Torsen (not torsion) LSD was part of all the Tuned by Sti from 2006 (I believe) and included in the GT Spec B from 2008. Another reason I grabbed my Spec B. 2008 GT Spec B also included R180 diff V R160 (although conversation with you suggests ALL 6 speeds include R180 v R160).

[/QUOTE] plus garage door lip mod :D |
This update has a distinct lack of turbo in it?
Diff is nice... but... |
^^^ lacking tuner = sad panda
|
When you say you can feel the push from the rear do you mean the car is stepping into a slide (oversteer) or do you mean you can feel the car is pivoting and turning in better?
|
ok so booked in for mid may for install and tune.
Seems like a long time but I have to fit in Forrest Rally and Targa Tas at the end of March and mid April respectively so May will be here in a blink |
