Have you made a carbon pannel for the sunroof yet? Get rid of that glass and mechanism.

I welded Ashleys bolt in cage recently. Was fine.

There was no glass in the roof Russ, it was just a panel that went back & forth. But yeah, complete sunroof mechanism gone & I have just glued (sikaflex) in the thin panel & attached 4 brackets underneath to make sure it does not come out. I lost nearly 9kgs taking the frame, motor & all the other crap out of the car that was associated to the sunroof.

I really for now just want to weld in 4 gussets on the A & B pillar to the cage & then a support bar from the top on the drives side of the main hoop, to bottom the passenger side of the hoop. I am hoping that will stiffen things up some more, whilst adding a little more safety if the shit ever does hit the fan.

i've got an aeromotive stealth 340L pump brand new in the box sitting in my shed you can have it for $180 if you like, i thought the walbro in my bug was playing up but turned out to be the fuel pump control module instead, i'd keep it if it fit my gtr but the inlet setup is different, was going to put it up for sale on here shortly

Cheers Chris, I have just bought a new pump from the US. I worked out the 255 walbro after 20 min can't keep up with the fuel I need going to the swirl pot. As in, over that 20 min the 3.5 litre catch can is empty...

been reading a fair bit about this Simon. seems that the high flow rate pumps tend to do this. Research has taught me that a low pressure, high volume pump to the surge tank then 2 044 pumps to line to engine...

worth a thought?

Craig,

My current fuel setup is like this

Walbro 255 in tank to swirl pot
2 X Bosch 044's running down 1/2" line to the fuel rails
Through the fuel reg back down the standard return line back into the swirl pot
Swirl pot overflows to the main tank unused fuel from the rails & "should" always maintain the 3.5 liters inside.

The 255 can push 255 liters of fuel at 43 psi (or there abouts), this should be plenty of fuel for my car, especially considering it will flow more when not under any pressure, well that's what I thought.

LINK TO WALBRO SPEC SHEETS

Also remember that 2 044's are only needed in my case due to E85. I could still probably run the power I am currently with 1 044 from the swirl pot if I was on a race fuel such as C16.

I also have the GD wiring harness in my car now, which actually has a fuel pump voltage controller & I am thinking that this might be a possible cause of the issue also.

can you set the pump to run flat stick the entire time?

any excess fuel will return to the tank.
hopefully can maintain a 3L surge full!

Not with the fuel controller wired in I don't think so. I will have to have more of a look in the ViPec, but I have not seen anywhere you can set the duty on it.

What sort of control signal would it be (0-10v, 4-20ma etc etc)

Not sure on how it all works Dave with control voltages. The controller ECU goes off a few inputs from the ECU, no doubt it will something like MAP, TPS & possibly RPM or something. The ecu then regulates the voltage that the pump controller allows to go to the fuel pump.

Well that's how I understand it. I have a new pump (which is E85 safe) on the way & I think I will just hard wire the thing in, so that as you say its getting a constant 14 ish volts all the time.
