Yeah same as Oli - Westcar detailing.

It must have been a lemon, but still a pain in the arse to sort

Towing was a prick. One guy wanted $450 to get the truck and tow the car back to mine. Asked him if he provided the lube....

I've had dealing with him buying products, and it was like getting water from a rock when trying to get any info outa him...
He was keen on sending me a replacement DW300 but once I told him I've had to get a Walbro installed he said he would contact Deutschworks and see what he can organise.

I've had no problems with him, he gave me a good price for all the gear I bought off him including the turbo etc. I'll update when he gets back to me.

Yeah, according to ASG the Walbro pumps are the way to go. I had one prior to going e85 and went the DW300 on a recommendation...

Yeah may be worth the coin, was lucky to get a good price through ASG getting the car there.

Warranty claim is going about as well as virgin at a brothel.

Not even remotely happy to send me a refund, so it will get taken further. Consumer protection will be contacted this week.

In other news,

New muffler was fitted, norm butler item so bolted straight in. Larger tip diameter has given the car an angrier rumble and taken away the "tinny" sound at high RPM.... Blue flames are better now..

Got a steal on an 08 spec R STI cooler.

This will be getting fitted when I get back from Europe and to ASG for a retune. Hopefully pick up a bit of power and torque as the standard STI item is my limiting factor at the moment (as well as heat soak)

Will update in the near future...

Manufacture or supplier deny the refund?

I've had zero issues dealing with PSR/Troy recently and multiple times in the past.

The warranty is a manufacturer's one that lies with Deatchwerks I believe not PSR after 3months?
I thought you were getting a replacement sent via PSR/DW warranty?

Per: Shipping & Returns - PSR Return & Exchange Policy

Warranty Claims:
All products come with a 6 mths warranty unless stated otherwise.

As its Brett's Daily he couldn't wait for a warranty claim & needed to obtain something suitable to run his car, instead of weeks out of commission with no running car. As it failed in a relatively short time frame (under 3 months from new IIRC) & also within 6 months of PSR, its PSR's responsibility to rectify.

However as it was a major problem & couldn't be rectified within a reasonable timeframe, it's Brett's decision to request a refund under the Australian Consumer Law.

TROLLEY, JRecardo and RJ999 like this.

I've had good experiences with Troy and PSR, but he is very quick to refer a warranty concern to a manufacturer as opposed to dealing with it himself. This results in long winded warranty claims, I would have done the same thing as Brett.

May I ask what it cost to have the SM4 fitted & tuned (at ASG, i presume) - Not incl. the actual cost of the ECU itself.

I had a dw300 die on me too. Mine was a good few years old, but had bugger all kms on it. Like maybe 15000km. Left me strnaded on the wrong side of town in the middle of the night. Was hard gay.

I put another dw300 in as i happened to have one from a unfitted surge can in my shed. The new dw300 had a different PN on the side, and different colout plastic ends compared to the one it replaced. Im not sure if that means my original (or new) dw300 was a counterfeit. Or just a superceded design considering the age? I cant recal where i got my first one, but the new one came direct from Radium engineering. So im hoping its not a faker.

I have a e85 walbro 450lph pump to go into my surge can when i eventually install it. And will leave the current dw300 in the tank as a lifter pump.

Have heard stories of a few dw300s failing lately.
