Well according to ASG the dw300's are shit.

They have had 10 fail in the past 6 months alone.

Doing it over I should have stuck to Walbro, there is one in atm and it's running happily so I'm pleased now.

Yours may have been an older model as I know they recently overhauled the design and released a "new" model.

Long story short the car is running well (although a little rich - 120L/h bigger fuel pump) awaiting a larger sti cooler to be fitted and tuned upon my return.

Will update in the coming months

I think my dw300 has just died. Either that or its the Brant. Car running fine one second. Stop and go to start it again and it dies straight away. Can't hear fuel pump priming either Arhhhhhh

Sounds like the symptoms. Just trying to turn over and nothing? Try get it to ASG and see what they think. Could also be the Brant with the fuel pump immobiliser. Not ideal in any regard.

all good - turned out to be the fucking brant failing. fuel pump was most likely fine (i put in a walbro before realising the pump was not the problem). will probably put the dw300 back in i guess. *phew*

Back to reality...post holiday depression is real.

Cooler has been delivered and is sitting in the garage ready to be fitted when the Tax man sends some $$ my way (hopefully) :P

Also picked up a V8 STI cluster for a bargain, so that will be fitted this week when I get home.

08 Cooler and re-tune is happening in the next 2/3 weeks.

Will post pictures of install of Cluster and dyno results ASAP

This is the comparison between the 2;

And the cluster (minus the DCCD) as I couldn't find a decent one from 03/04 model;

Cluster Fitted;

Direct Plug and play which was a big win and only 5 minute job. Stoked with the result, looks 100x better;

Before;

After;

Just have to match my HVAC bulbs - have a set of red LED's at home which I'll install tomorrow...

as well as Odometer matching to my old cluster kms (Speedline Instruments Malaga quoted me $100 over the phone for anyone interested)

So you just plugged that in and lost 50,000 km's? I thought they had to be programmed or something. If not then that's scary.

You have to get the cluster odometer kms matched (as I mentioned above, I'm going into speedline instruments in Malaga today and getting them to match my kms from the old cluster.

It's probably been done before, but a REVS check and all the receipts for work carried out at workshops has the ODO readings so easy to find out if it's had a cluster swap.

Thought I would update this;

Not much has changed. Still haven't fixed the front number plate as I am waiting for SGIO to chase up the responsible party to avoid my $500 excess.

Sold the Blinder and purchased the laser Interceptor Dual for the front of the car;

LI control unit (will be moved and wiring cleaned up)

Control unit also wired to Relay mute circuit to cut the switched active to the Stereo upon alert

Pro DB on rear plate (will be moved higher once I fabricate a Acrylic backing plate to mount it to)

And the V1 on the Mirror Mount, hardwired with Concealed Display Module

Also purchased a Surge Tank for the boot and a catch can to be installed.

Will have that done shortly and will get a mate to fabricate up a boot setup with Teflon lines etc to look something like this;

This should hopefully eliminate my fuel surge issues with the e85 swap and shit GD fuel tank design.

Thoughts?
