No, more like I know my cars limits and didn't try to push beyond them with average brakes and tyres....luck has nothing to do with it.

Yep I will very soon, I needed new tyres for RW and didn't have a lot of cash so they were all I could get :/

Ummm?

Lol at understeering off on the grass and nearly rolling, then blaming the dccd for not being on.

I said "when I thought it might roll" it never actually lifted a wheel from what I was told, and the dccd makes a big difference... I had gone out 5 times prior with it on and the one run I didn't use it I did everything the same but on the left hander up the hill it pulled me into the grass instead of the rear sliding out slightly. honestly it surprised me as I wasn't going nuts up the hill and the only other time I've experienced understeer that bad was at Collie when I crashed into the truck tyre.

I turned dccd back on for the next lot of runs and didn't have the issue again....

Settle down Russ. At the rate Cat's going she'll make your power slide avatar GIF look like child's play.

Actually Cat ... Go to RAC on cheap tyres and show Russ how it's done Power slide into a loss, couple of 360s, catch it and then power on.

Keep up the good work showing hard parkers what it means to hammer a car.
Insome and Cat like this.

Might need to get some more achilles to do that

If you don't mind me asking Russ how did you get your wagon to slide out that much ? Everytime I try it pulls in pretty quickly or goes all over the place!

Was there any instructors out there today or was it just a test n tune?

Having someone else in the car and helping you round is a massive help I found.

It was on Tuesday and was just a day to test the cars and there was an instructor but I just went out there for some fun, when I do a no limits night I'll be more serious.

Do they have instructors for no limits ?

Pfff. I'll keep this brief: if you don't enter, I'm putting an entry in for you.
Mid year rallysprint will be on a sunday at daytime and you'll be there.

You're kind of reminding me of my stint a couple years ago when I was entering every event I could find and felt it was time to justify upping the pads and tyres. So here's what I did (as I had a similar car & situation):

• Brakes – grabbed some Project Mu Club Racer fronts which aren't ideal for street but are great for long stints on the track. Because of this I swapped them in/out at each event in combination with chucking on my R-comps (A050) – so the wheels were coming off anyway. A bit of practice led to sub-5 minute swaps per side.
If you CBF with throwing pads in/out each event (as your car's virtually your daily too, right?) then HC+ or other brand equivalent would be ideal as they are suitable for street use too.

• Semi-race / Race tyres: essentially the AD08 or A050 (or other brand equivalent).
If you're happy to do a swap every event, why not the A050. Otherwise, AD08s for the good balance in between.

AD08 + HC+ for "it's always good to go on street or track" upgrade.
A050 + Club Racer for a very solid track combo.

You've been in my car for Rallysprint with that bottom combo, so you know what it's like..

My 2c.
ps: oh and nice launches.

pps: at No Limits, try Franz as instructor over Brett as Franz has a lot of AWD experience on that track and the lines are a little different for AWD cars.
