This used to be a pretty strong, quick and competitive car running the stock engine (later with forged pistons & rods), stock turbo, UEL headers, exhaust, CAI and ECUTek tune for 215 KW ATW.....

Other than the motor it's all the same. I'd never change it Steve. being my second 06 sti this one runs rings around my first one. First one was typical subie understeer. This one handles amazingly. The first motor died when a mate changed from sixth to third at speed and it over revved. It was still running perfect. I dont plan to push this motor stupid I just wanted it overengineered and mainly focused on torque, response and reliability

lol, no. was obv brand new, to repeat myself. they quoted to machine MY flywheel (30k old) and replace clutch. at point of sale/pickup i had to wait to pay because dean had to talk to me. he told me just before i paid that they replaced flywheel with a different machined one as thats what they do. so they quoted work, did something else, and made sure they told me before sale so it wasnt unsolicited work. clutch shuddered worse on engagement than even my 6 puck single. and wore out in the blink of an eye. i had a negative experience and i wont be back. simple. they where the first workshop i dealt with and been playing with subies for 7 years now with many more to go. its been there loss really.

So why did you pay if you were so against what they did being different to what was quoted?

Your supposed to machine or replace the fly wheel every clutch change. My previous clutch was plagued with problems from day one because machining was poor.

Whats the alternative. Being that guy who makes them pull it out again???

Sometimes when you get sub-standard service from a service provider, you just pay up, move on, bag them out online, and never return.
