Day 9; 706KM, springs finally going in Wednesday!

Got a few ideas on the table at the moment.

Firstly is the exhaust, from the factory it's actually quite audible (similar to EVO X noise level) and even getting the backfire on the back-off, but it looks terrible.

So the idea is grab some quality 3.5"-4" tips (similar to the ones pictured) that will fill the bumper cut-out better and also get the resonator cut out of the exhaust also. The resonator delete is popluar with the MPS crowd and gives the car more growl without being overly obnoxious like many cat-backs, and for the $140 I was quoted for the job it isn't to expensive either.

Anther part I am trying to secure is a COBB Accessport. This will allow me to remove the 1st/2nd gear boost limiters and gain approx 10% more peak power and 15-20% more peak torque because I don't have enough torque steer. It can also reload the stock (or any other map) in minutes so my dealer won't even know

Plus if I do upgrade turbo/exhaust/intercooler/fuel in the future it can have a custom tune with the AP as well.

Ensure you can get the AP tuned by someone reliable before investing in that path.

You can ECUTek and Open Source tune the MPS, so might be worthwhile looking at all options.

Cobb is big in the USA, but no point getting it if you can't get it tuned properly here.

Yeah, I know that.

There are several MPS owners in perth who have taken a "COBB Generic MPS 3 98oct" Map and tweaked it between themselves to get the most out of it, plus I have had a few conversations with Mao about COBB tuning, also a lot of guys in Perth have used the "off the shelf" maps and made considerable gains.

COBB "off the shelf" maps maps are designed to be on the safe side (no extreme boost levels, timing is conservative, etc) thus why a COBB tune only nets 10% power and 15-20% torque.

ECUTEK is expensive and there isn't a designated shop in Perth who tunes MPS's, lots of places over east, but Perth there is sweet-F-all. Thus the COBB is the logical answer.

So it's been a busy few days in my garage receiving and installing parts on the MPS.

The springs were testing but being a new car all the nuts and bolts came off without any liquid encouragement (WD40 FTW). The operator on the other hand needed a little liquid supplement to fight of the humid feeling in the garage

So after 4 hours, 2 neighbour visits and a 6 pack of coke(Ohhh, that's right, hitting the hard stuff ) the car was done! And the difference is amazing

It is now at a perfect height (1cm clearance off my driveway) for daily duty. The number plate bracket has finally been finished and sent from Tas, so another week until I see that.

I will try to get some better pictures over the next few days and (hopefully) convert a few to the MPS's style

The springs are great in the MPS too. Not too much firmer ovreall, but it lost 22mm in the front and 20mm in the back, so now it looks the goods
