So now that life has settled down a bit a report on my first track meeting will follow;

Friday 21st of March saw me go up to Barbagallo with my trusty wifey in toe and Lachy coming up to help aswell. First run was just a shakedown and see how the car performed. Very well and after 6 or so laps came in a just checked over a few things. Went out 3 more times during the day. Noticed it was getting a touch warm in the afternoon and was rev cutting over the top of the hill.

Saturday 22nd March was race day. Nerves has settled in and was quite daunting. Thanks to the street car guys for making me feel so welcome and letting me know the way things run. Qualifying was at 1:40pm so the hottest part of the day. Got 2 laps in before it was rev cutting again due to temp (will be a common occurrence)

Placed second last on grid for first race but missed the start, car was running hot and was short shifting to cool it down. Was great fun though, finished my first race and couldn’t be happier.

Dropped the coolant, left the thermostat out and made some cowling to direct airflow better into the radiator itself. Reverse grid for Race 2 saw me in position 2 on start. Still didn’t launch properly and Iain in the other WRX Sti overtook me. I tried keeping up with him just to see if I could, and I did for a few laps until the faster cars starting streaming past! Still was getting warm but much better overall. Finished 5th

Third race went out and launched hard and really tested the car out. Chased down Shauns skyline and overtook him just to lose it in the bowl and get some air off some sand piles. Was great fun though and thanks to everyone for making it happen!

Radiator is getting swapped out as we speak this week!

Many thanks goes to;
My wife Kelly from KAMImages Photography for working her arse off for our hobby
Matt and the boys at AutoPro Canningvale
Justin and Kellie form BYE Performance for getting the car running so great (with a completely unbelievable 610Nm of torque figure. EABD haters)
Russ from Kap Industries for the last minute catch can design for the WRX! Great work mate
Rising Sun Subaru for their help and advice as well as a great engine
Jim and Jarrod at Blue Start for all the odd bits and pieces I needed throughout the build
AutoForce WA for the awesome fuel system put through the car
Dan from Couplers Malaga for hand bending hard line for the fuel system and doing a stellar job
And last but certainly not least, Gav from GT Graphics, you are seriously the bomb!

Get that diff in!!

Glad i could help out mate, the thing is a rocket getting a 66.9 in the first race meet! You drove it really well even when you were trying to back it into the last corner. Time to play with the suspension more so as well
