Is Verso just Romraider by another name? If it is then the Carberry patch will allow you to use the same alcohol content monitor as Zeitronix but only pay $80 U.S. for it and have it tuned by ASG. What am I missing here?

Intra can you chime in on this and clarify?
Like Jacob said, at the end of the day its listen to your tuner and what he uses.

Even if you have a 32 bit ecu in a newer Sti/wrx then the MerpMod is only a month or two away from having flex capable. This is also a patch onto the factory rom.

Kremer I've now had a chance to look at that link, read this a while back... it is only for 01-02 ECUs
It's not possible for any other GD ecu, and ASG do not use the carberry rom. It's certainly doable if someone wants to spend the time coding it for the 02-07 GD but I don't think any reputable tuner in Australia will use something like this from naisoc/iwsti

If you have a GD and that this is 32 bit then Merril has said that he just about has the flex fuel setup ready for migration to the MerpMod patch. He has been delayed as some prat crashed into his test car.
Just to clarify, Carberry and MerpMod are just patch programs that modify certain parts of the factory ecu. If ASG have used verso tune to modify the engine parameters on the factory ecu then these patches will just change more lines of code. Essentially the same as ecutek except that excited then adds a locking line to stop non ecutek programs from being able to read/change. Worth looking at still. Another thing that is also in test in the Opensource/Romraider space is virtual flex. This is where they can work out live alcohol content without needing to run a flex sensor. I hope these comments and input are helpful. I have been watching this stuff for over two years. |
