Yeah Gordon... it will get further tested on Tuesday by the shop before making the definite call to leave it there to build the lot, tee kay tests don't lie about head gaskets though.

I'm with Gordan on this one, if the bottom end is still healthy don't bother rebuilding it, just do the top ends. Thats what I would do anyway. The motor is coming out so your builder can have a good look.

Yeah that's true. What do you mean by top ends?
But it would be shit to have those chocolate pistons fuck up later down the track when it could have been sorted now.

Yeah will get him to do both a leak/compression test...but for the cost if the head valves/springs are fine, I'd rather have the piston work done as I don't want to have the engine pulled out again later. They are hypereutectics so trying to push hp will eventually have a bad result if not forged
