Default Doodz Ride

For the past 7 year I have been driving a Bf XR6 Ute and needed a family car, but one with a bit of power as well. So after driving a mate STI and months of looking I finally found and settled on a 2010 Subaru Liberty GT Premium. Not a WRX, I know but I wanted it to be different, with the luxury aspect swell.

The Liberty is a Gen V, manual 2.5L turbocharged 4 cylinder. Come standard with Sat Nav, 10 speaker MacIntosh sound system, leather interior, electronic hand break (which I'm not too sure if I like atm) and push button start. Its 195Kw/350Nm, with obvious differences to the WRX motor.

So I picked her up, stock, with not modifications apart from a K&N Panel filter in the air box. Plans for it you ask........well you know the famous last word of "Just an exhaust, tune, suspension and rims, ill be happy!" Needless to say there will be an endless list of "what comes next?"

Heres what to come, as a start:

Tint
3" Turbo Back Exhaust
Tune
Coilovers
Rims and Tyres (Undecided on size and brand)
Strut bar
Sway bars
Rear boot lip spoiler....................

First thing that got added a week after I got the car was the tint to all windows, including the sunroof! Tint was done by TKO tinting, which as normal turned out a treat!

After a visit and service from Doug and the boys a STechnics. I had the boys organise to send her off to Butler's to have a 3" TBE put on. All the reviews from others about Norm Butler and the quality of work that comes out of his shop, eased my mind and I was happy to wait to get it in. Lets just say when I got her back I was very impressed with the workmanship.

First thing to note is that the MY10 Liberty's have equal length headers and the trade mark sound of the WRX is not there but still has a slight burble. A different note for sure but its growing on me!

In 2 weeks, the Liberty is off for a Tune, so I will keep you posted...........

Welcome - it'll be interesting to see what sort of power you get from the tune.

Hi, I like your liberty too.
I wish I got a Butler instead of being a scrooge and getting x-farce. Nice work mate.
As stated look forward to seeing what it squeezes out.

Good to see you finally did up a build thread mate. Hope you're still loving the car. It looked great in the flesh, and I'm sure it will look amazing when you're done with it!
