Cars....all the time and money put into making it more like you want...building excitement and anxiety towards the day that it is completed....only to encounter teething problems.

I am only just over a week away from living the same dream/nightmare.

Best of luck. Can't wait to see the numbers and hear of the fun factor.
Haha, I will leave it to Mao to diagnose the issue.

Maybe a friendly tip. Delete the intank filter and get a k&n ss mech inline filter. And get a bigger pump, ie 320lph.

It is an interesting point. What litres per hour pump is required to safely feed ID1000 and 400 whp on either 98 and e85? I always had in mind that a DW65 or other 265lph pump was adequate.

Do people run the bigger Walbro etc 450lph pumps?

Serbaru's 08STi with built motor/Dom1.5xtr/id1000's made 365hp/+500nm on e85 with DW65.

Ran 11.8 at the plex if my memory is still functioning.

You close the valve, but leave the device screwed into the engine for initial start up, so you can then watch the attached oil pressure gauge to ensure good oil pressure.

Ive seen a few places use this type of tool from places that build industrial engines to performance engines. Im sure Stechnic have one ( or a variation of it ).

The location of the oil switch / rear gallerey plug on a Subaru isnt as easy as most other engines, but Its not too bad to get too, when compared to the work of doing an engine.

Dont know what the tools are called, but its a bloody good way of doing it.
Most of the time it is an oil accumulator, pretty standard thing if you build a Holden 308 (as they suffer oil problems) they actually stay on the car and is basically oil pressure on demand.....

Sorry to take over the thread but would the DW65 be comfortably within design scope for 400whp on e85?

I have seen Serbaru go down the plex. Was a nice car. Was his pump near max or still had plenty of safety margin?

The reason why I am asking is that I have a DW65 and with my install of a gtx3076r shortly I don't want to max the pump in order to run 400whp

Cheers

Theoretically, should be enough, 1000cc/min *4*60= 240lph. I would leave some decent head room.

300c would be nice, I think they r rated for 310lph?
