Its purely a tuning factor.

Have your tuner do the right thing of using a proper closed loop routine and you'll see some decent fuel usage. Some tuning shops (noone in particular) only do open loop tuning which in a perfect world does not do a street car any justice as an everyday ride.

It could also come back to the age old question if Autronic have a closed loop feature at all..

If you want economy like a std car then leave it std. Be realistic a motec or Autronic are built and developed for motorsport not toodling down to the shops

i realise this.. but you be realistic... think about it.. i had verso with the same mods but more boost and the same power and i was getting OVER 400km to a tank... no mods have changed and the car is putting out the same power on less boost (0.1bar less) and is using 100km of fuel to do so??

thats pathetic, indeed it maybe the tune but i just dont see why changing to a "better" ecu will ruin the fuel economy of a car this bad! i was happy to loose some fuel economy but loosing over 100km to a tank is alot...

Because it's all in the tune as said many times already and
a flash just uses the OEM settings as a base so it already has
has the info were as a pnp ECU needs more attention as your
basically starting from scratch.

Fuel has nothing to do with the actually ECU itself just the time spent
on the tune and the way you drive it.

If you don't like it get it retuned better or sell it, simple.

exactly what im doin selling

there is no point cause i dont plan to mod the car as i previously was going to so a verso tune will be fine

As far as I know and have read the Autronic SM4 has a
closed loop feature.

Isnt this the one you bought off CREX on Rexnet for $1200del
if so in his description it states:

"this ecu can pretty much do any thing

anti lag
launch control
flat shifting
map tune so no afm
rotatale idle
closed loop boost

it also has autotune where you set where you want your fuel targets and the ecu will tune its self to the best possible power and torque.
last time i used this ecu i picked up close to 18kw over the haltech i was using .

its a top of the line ecu and one of the only after market ecus that can compare with the motec m800

retails for around $3650 fitted and tuned

price drop $1200 posted "

Just get your tuner to set the fuel goals properly!

i paid 1200 + posting.. cause i got it overnight bag... and i had to pay 600 for the knock board AND i had to get it "unlocked"

so all up its cost me nearly a new one...

but yes thats the one

also had to get some areas modified as the previous owner was running dual fuel pumps

I wasn't disputing the cost of it I'm just simply pointing
out that the ECU has the function to give as much
fuel economy as you like/choose.

If you want to unload the knock board let me know.
