Houston. We have a winner.

Employees version:

Drives off a small kerb and hits something underneath. Rings his boss and says the muffler is making some weird noise. Decides to keep driving. 10 minutes later rings one of the mechanics and say the van has dropped all its oil needs a tow home.

My version:

Launches off the kerb and pushes the radiator into the fan. Runs out of water. Starts making big end noise but keeps driving. Throws leg out of bed. Excuse the crap quality pictures but you get the idea.

End result is that an exchange diesel hiace motor is $2750. We can fit it but really cant be bothered. Will put the van in this weeks quokka and get rid of it. It was a 1999 model diesel toyota. I would have replaced it but the retic guys treat their vans like shit so I am uber reluctant to replace them with anything other than hand me downs from the mechanics etc.

You don't say!!!

Some people have no respect at all. You should see how the in piters get treated on a mine site. Really good add for what tojo's will survive but NEVER buy a white one!!!

Hey I blew a rod out of a 550 tonne excavator and never heard a thing in the cab. Stereo up and care factor on sweet FA then I doubt any noises would have even registered.

Some people just don't associate odd noises with BAD!!!

Im sick of a bloke on my Dispatch team not pulling his weight. He's on night shift and knocked over a row of 70x35 1.2's resulted in four broken packs that we just left there for him to fix tonight. Also the amount of burnout marks i find around the area amazes me! Tyres do NOT last. He also stacked a whole isle of timber and didnt register that there was no gap on each side to get down for stock take!! Needs to be shifted again. =[

Hand him down an air cooled Kombi. He won't run that bastard out of water!

If you have hamfisted drivers or drivers with zero care factor you can get a device that allows you to shut the engine down after an alarm sounds for overheating etc. I used to fit them to Troopys destined for Abbo communities, never stopped them filling the back with dead roos, riding on the roof/bonnet or letting them get washed down a river though.

It's called a Murphey gauge, can be set to either sound an alarm or shut down the vehicle on overheat, low coolant & low oil pressure.

Special mention goes to the delivery driver that dropped off the MDF today.
Instead of getting a signature and name from one of us, he felt it would be fine to fill it out in the name of "some guy"
